My Child does not eat

My child does not eat at all. What should I do?

In these trying times of covid pandemic, here are a few tips for parents and care givers for ensuring a healthy diet for children and babies. Both under nutrition (wasting, stunting, underweight) and obesity / overweight are categorized as malnutrition and it is very important that with all the restrictions of home isolation and restricted play and activity, our children stay healthy and do not suffer from either and have a balanced diet with optimum nutrients, vitamins and minerals.

  1. Eat a variety of food, including fruits and vegetables
  2. Eat moderate amounts of fats and oils
  3. Cut back on salt
  4. Limit sugar intake
  5. Stay hydrated: Drink enough water
  6. Avoid high sugary foods and snacks

Food Safety during COVID-19

Data on COVID-19 infection and modes of its transmission is evolving every day. There is no direct evidence that it can be spread through contact with food or food packaging. However, anyways it is important to practice good hygiene while handling food to safeguard and protect against any food-borne illnesses. Always sanitize the food packaging before opening the ordered food.
